# Palau ID Eligibility and Requirements

> Review identity, document, photo, verification, shipping, and regional requirements before applying for a Palau Digital Residency ID.

## Who can apply for a Palau ID?

An applicant must be able to use an eligible RNS.ID account, provide an identity document accepted by the current verification flow, complete the required identity and compliance checks, and provide the requested personal and shipping information. Current regional restrictions and government approval still apply.

Check the requirements before purchasing. Passing checkout does not replace identity verification or government approval.

## Account and access

You need an RNS.ID account with an email address you can access. RNS.ID uses email for verification codes and application updates. Keep the same account throughout the purchase and application journey.

## Identity document

Prepare an original, valid government-issued identity document accepted by the verification flow. Depending on the document, you may be asked for the front and back or the passport information page.

* Use the original document, not a photocopy, screenshot, or picture of a copy.
* Make sure all details are readable and the document is not expired.
* Enter your personal information exactly as supported by the document and application instructions.

The verification interface determines which document types are accepted for your country or region.

## Facial verification

You must be able to complete a live facial check. Use a camera-enabled device in good lighting, remove face obstructions such as hats or tinted glasses, and follow the on-screen movement instructions.

## Palau ID portrait

Prepare a recent, clear portrait for the ID card. The Palau ID portrait is separate from the live facial verification. Review the [Palau ID photo requirements](/support/photo-requirements) before uploading.

## Personal and shipping information

The application requests personal details and a deliverable physical address. The interface may request country-specific shipping or customs fields.

* Provide a recipient name and phone number that the carrier can use.
* Enter a complete street address and use the application's address-review action.
* Avoid “care of” wording unless it is genuinely required and the recipient can accept delivery; the interface warns that these addresses can be rejected by building management.
* Review any country-specific notices shown by RNS.ID.

The **Validate Address** action does not guarantee that an external provider or carrier verified deliverability for every destination. All applicants must independently check the recipient, local-language address, administrative region, postal code, phone number, customs fields, and carrier requirements before submitting.

## Regional availability

RNS.ID checks current country and compliance restrictions. The restricted-country list is maintained by the service and can change, so review the list shown in the product instead of relying on a copied list.

  Do not enter false identity, customs, tax, or shipping information to bypass a restriction or missing document. If a required country-specific field does not apply to you, contact support before submitting.

## Approval is not guaranteed

Applications pass identity, KYC/AML, sanctions and other reviews before government approval. Purchasing a term does not guarantee approval. Read the confirmations shown at checkout and during submission.
