# Renew or Extend Your Palau ID

> Renew an eligible Palau ID, extend its validity, select a current term, confirm shipping information, and complete payment.

Eligible users can renew or extend a Palau ID through the ID management experience.

## Before renewing

Open the Palau ID management page and check that a renewal or extension action is available. You may need to resolve an incomplete video verification, identity update, account restriction, or other displayed issue first.

Complete any pending **Update KYC** submission before starting a renewal. If an update is under review, wait for the result or [contact Support](/support/contact-us) before paying.

Review:

* the current ID status and expiration date;
* the validity terms currently offered;
* the shipping address for the new physical card;
* the current price, discounts, and payment method;
* whether [Expedited Service](/palau-id/expedited-service) is currently offered; and
* any active subscription, **Next Deduction Date**, or renewal order already in progress.

Palau ID automatic renewal can use checkpoints **60, 45, 30, 15, 5, and 0 days before the final renewal date**. A failed attempt can move to the next remaining checkpoint. Do not assume that an unexpired ID means no payment has been attempted or that a later notice is a duplicate attempt. Check **Next Deduction Date**, Orders, and [Subscriptions and automatic renewal](/account/subscriptions-and-auto-renewal#understand-the-next-deduction-date) before paying manually.

  Before disabling automatic renewal, read the complete confirmation. The current paid term normally continues to its displayed end date, but the action can disable add-on renewal, permanently remove eligibility for the one-year plan, and clear a protected renewal price. Re-enabling later does not guarantee that the former plan or price will return.

## Complete a renewal

1. Select the eligible renewal or extension action.
2. Choose one of the terms currently offered.
3. Confirm or update the shipping address.
4. Select Expedited Service only if it is offered and needed.
5. Review the order summary and payment method.
6. Complete payment and confirm the order status.
7. Follow any verification or correction action shown afterward.

A completed renewal includes a newly produced physical card with an updated expiration date. A paid order alone does not mean that renewal review or card issuance is complete. Follow the remaining requirements and progress under [Card and shipping](/palau-id/card-and-shipping).

  A manual renewal is an order you initiate, rather than a scheduled automatic charge. It can also update your subscription. Check subscriptions and orders before paying to avoid an unintended duplicate action, then review the resulting renewal settings afterward.

## Expired or suspended dependent services

An expired or revoked Palau ID can affect services that require an active ID. For example, Palau Mailing can be suspended until the qualifying ID is renewed or reactivated. Restoring the ID does not guarantee that every dependent service resumes immediately; open each service and complete any displayed action.

Renewal remains subject to the [annual screening requirements](/palau-id/manage-your-id#annual-screening), including for a multi-year term.

If renewal is expected but not offered, [contact support](/support/contact-us) with the Palau ID and account email. Review the current checkout terms and price before paying. If they conflict with a renewal notice or an existing order, preserve both records and ask support to clarify.
