For automatic renewal, RNS.ID considers eligible payment methods in priority order. Another method may be tried if the current method cannot be used during the initial renewal attempt.
RNS.ID uses your payment-priority list when it starts an eligible automatic-renewal charge. Do not assume that a payment which later remains processing or fails automatically causes another method to be charged.

How the order works

Your saved cards and RNS Balance appear in a single ordered list. For an eligible automatic renewal:
  1. RNS.ID attempts the method at the top.
  2. If RNS Balance is insufficient or a method cannot be used during the initial attempt, RNS.ID may move to the next eligible method.
  3. If a card payment has already been initiated, a later Processing or Payment Failed status does not prove that another method was tried.
  4. If no eligible method can start the renewal payment, the renewal can fail and require manual action.
This priority applies to automatic charges. A manual checkout can still let you select a different offered method.

Change the priority

  1. Open Settings → Payment Priority.
  2. Find the card or RNS Balance entry.
  3. Use Move up or Move down.
  4. Repeat until the intended primary method is at the top.
  5. Confirm that RNS.ID reports the sorting update as successful.
RNS Balance can be reordered but not deleted. A saved card can be reordered or deleted.

Before a renewal

  • Check that the first method is valid and has sufficient funds or credit.
  • Check the card expiration date and billing requirements.
  • Confirm that RNS Balance has enough available funds if it is first.
  • Review the subscription’s Next Deduction Date and amount, which can precede the end of the paid term. See Subscriptions and automatic renewal.
  • Keep a fallback method below the primary method when possible.
Adding a payment method does not guarantee that it becomes the top priority. Verify the final order yourself.
Payment Priority applies to eligible automatic-renewal charges. It does not provide a card fallback sequence for RNS Balance automatic top-up, and it does not force a manual checkout to use the first method. If an automatic charge is processing or fails, open the subscription and order records before retrying manually. Do not assume that a fallback method was or was not charged until you have checked the records.
