Eligibility and purchase

Who can apply for a Palau ID?

Applicants must satisfy the eligibility rules shown during purchase and verification and must provide supported identity evidence. Review Eligibility and requirements before paying.

Where can I find the current price and validity terms?

Use the production RNS.ID product and checkout pages. Prices, available terms, discounts, capacity, and add-ons can change and are not fixed in this documentation.

Does purchasing guarantee approval?

No. Payment starts the application journey. Identity verification, screening, any required video call, internal review, and government review must still be completed. No. Identity features, optional PMH mailing services, and conditional or legacy programs have separate requirements. A purchase does not guarantee third-party acceptance or future roadmap services. See the feature categories.

Use and third-party acceptance

Where can I present a Palau ID?

A holder may choose to present a Palau ID when an organization requests an identity document. The organization decides whether to accept it and may require a passport, proof of address, another identity document, or additional verification. RNS.ID does not guarantee acceptance for a particular service or purpose.

Can I use a Palau ID for KYC or identity verification?

Only when the third party’s current rules allow it. Ask the organization which documents and formats it accepts before relying on the Palau ID for an identity-verification process. Issuance of the ID does not require a third party to approve a KYC or verification request.

Can I use a Palau ID with a bank or cryptocurrency exchange?

The bank, exchange, payment provider, or other financial service applies its own document, country, compliance, and account-eligibility rules. RNS.ID does not guarantee account opening, continued access, or acceptance of a Palau ID by any financial service. See community-reported use cases for individual experiences shared by community members, not an official support or acceptance list.

Is Palau Digital Residency citizenship, a passport, or physical residency?

No. Palau Digital Residency is not Palauan citizenship, a Palau passport, or proof that the holder physically resides in Palau. Review the requirements of the relevant government or organization before relying on the ID for travel, immigration, residence, or address evidence.

Applications and verification

Why is my application asking for a correction?

A submitted photo, document, address, or personal field may be unclear or inconsistent. Open the correction details and replace only the requested information. See Application status and corrections.

Is a video call required for every applicant?

Not necessarily. If a call is required, the dashboard shows Awaiting Video Call and provides the available scheduling or rescheduling action.

Can I appeal a rejected application?

You may request an appeal within 30 days from the date the application was denied by contacting support@rns.id. An appeal does not guarantee approval. See Application status and corrections.

How long does review take?

Review time depends on the application and stage. The dashboard and account email are the current sources for your case. Avoid relying on estimates copied from older documentation.

Can I change my verified personal information?

Use Update KYC if it appears in the ID management page. An approved update starts a 90-day self-service cooldown, and the page displays the next available update date. After three rejected KYC update submissions, self-service updating remains locked until Support reviews the case. Some changes require renewed identity verification, and a printed change may appear only on a replacement or renewed physical card. See Update personal information. Update KYC does not itself re-mint a Legal DID or change its public metadata profile or KYC-access setting. However, linked identity information may reflect approved updates in the token’s metadata, and third-party displays may remain cached. See Effect on Legal DID.

Card, digital copy, and renewal

Is my 2023-B card still valid?

The introduction of Rev. 2026-A does not invalidate an otherwise valid Rev. 2023-B card. Check the card’s expiration date and your current Palau ID status. See Card designs.

Why does my card look different from the newer design?

The revisions have different field labels and back layouts. Check the Rev. marking on the back; the order or delivery date alone does not identify the revision. Compare your card with the sample cards.

Do I need to replace my card because the design changed?

No. You can continue using an otherwise valid Rev. 2023-B card. For an expiring, lost, damaged, or incorrect card, follow Keeping, renewing, or replacing your card.

Can I change my shipping address?

You can edit it in RNS.ID while the relevant action is available before dispatch. After arrival in the destination country, coordinate a same-country change with the local carrier. A different-country change after shipment requires reprinting and reshipping with a fee under the Shipping Terms. Updating a default address does not reroute the card. See Card and shipping.

Where do I track my physical card?

Open the Palau ID management page and use the carrier tracking action after shipment details become available. See Card and shipping.

Do customs delays and lost shipments have the same replacement rules?

No. The Shipping Terms provide for RNS-paid reprinting and reshipping for an extended customs hold, while carrier loss and other delivery failures have different rules and exclusions. Do not assume every missing package qualifies for a free replacement. See Customs holds, loss, and costs.

Does reporting a delivery issue submit a replacement request?

Not necessarily. In the current flow, Delivered but not received and Other issues open Support chat; they do not by themselves submit a replacement request. A replacement begins only when the product opens the separate confirmation flow and you review and confirm the reason, shipping address, displayed price, and payment step. See Report an issue or request a replacement.

What should I check for a shipment to Taiwan?

Review the EZ Way real-name and shipping-address validation authorization in the Shipping Terms and follow the current shipping instructions. See Card and shipping.

Is the digital copy accepted everywhere?

Downloading the PDF does not establish permission to use it in a particular verification process or guarantee acceptance by a third party. See Digital ID copy for download and file-security instructions.

Will renewing produce a new card?

Yes. The renewal flow includes a new physical card with an updated expiration date. Confirm the shipping address before payment.

What is Expedited Service?

It is an optional add-on offered for eligible Palau ID purchases or renewals. Review the current checkout for its processing, shipping, price, and availability details. It does not guarantee identity approval. See Expedited Service.

Can a renewal charge happen before my ID expires?

Yes. Palau ID automatic renewal can use checkpoints 60, 45, 30, 15, 5, and 0 days before the final renewal date. If one attempt fails, another can be scheduled at the next remaining checkpoint. Check Next Deduction Date in Subscriptions and cancel before a charge is initiated if you do not want to renew. See Subscriptions and automatic renewal.

Account and lifecycle

Does a multi-year Palau ID still require annual screening?

Yes. The current Terms require annual updated KYC/AML, criminal-background, and sanctions screening. Unfavorable results can affect Digital Residency status, and compensation for the remaining subscription years is not guaranteed. See Annual screening.

What happens if my Palau ID expires?

The ID becomes inactive and services that require an active Palau ID can be limited or suspended. Open the ID to review available renewal actions.

What happens when I delete my Palau ID?

If the action is available, deletion removes the ID from active RNS.ID services and cancels every active subscription on the same account, including Palau ID add-ons or Palau Mailing when active. Cancellation can clear protected pricing and affect future one-year-plan eligibility. It is not account deletion, complete record erasure, or a Legal DID burn. Review the full Subscriptions list and read Manage your ID before proceeding.

Where can I get help?

Start with Troubleshooting. If the issue is specific to your application or ID, contact RNS.ID Support and include the relevant application, ID, or order number without sending passwords or security codes.
