What is the Palau Digital Residency ID?

The Palau Digital Residency ID is issued through the Republic of Palau Digital Residency Program. RNS.ID provides the online experience for purchasing an available term, completing identity verification, submitting the application, and managing the resulting ID and physical card.

What the Palau ID includes

Product features and optional programs have different eligibility and approval requirements. Purchasing a Palau ID does not automatically activate every related service. Voyager Pass is a legacy NFT, not a currently sold RNS.ID product. Eligible existing holders must request its supported one-year Palau ID benefit through RNS.ID Support; the benefit is not currently self-service and does not bypass application review.
Palau Digital Residency is not the same as citizenship, a passport, or physical residency in Palau. Whether any organization accepts an identity document is determined by that organization and its rules.

Physical card designs

The physical card has different design revisions. An otherwise valid Rev. 2023-B card remains usable after the introduction of Rev. 2026-A. See Card designs to identify a revision and compare front and back samples.

The application journey

  1. Choose an available Palau ID term and complete checkout.
  2. Enter the required personal and shipping information.
  3. Complete document and facial identity verification.
  4. Respond to any requested corrections.
  5. Wait for internal screening and government review.
  6. If required, complete video verification.
  7. Follow card production and shipping until delivery.
