Apple can supply a private relay address ending in @privaterelay.appleid.com when you select Hide My Email. RNS.ID requires a separate, non-relay email address that you can access for verification codes and important account or product messages.
This email step is required before the Apple registration or sign-in flow can continue.
New and existing users
- New Apple user: add and verify an accessible contact email before RNS.ID creates the account.
- Existing RNS.ID user whose account email is still an Apple relay address: verify a new contact email to replace the email on that existing account.
Do not enter another @privaterelay.appleid.com address. The form requires an ordinary email address that can receive the six-digit verification code.
Complete the email verification
- Continue with Apple using the Apple account connected to the intended RNS.ID account.
- When RNS.ID opens Add an email you can access or Update your contact email, enter a non-relay email.
- Request the six-digit verification code.
- Enter the newest code within 10 minutes.
- Wait for RNS.ID to finish registration or return you to the signed-in account.
The Apple email-binding request remains valid for 15 minutes. If the page reports that the request expired or there were too many attempts, return to sign-in and continue with Apple again to start a new request.
If the email already belongs to another account
RNS.ID does not merge or move accounts in this flow. If the chosen email is already connected to another RNS.ID account:
- use a different email for the Apple account you are currently accessing; or
- return to sign-in and use the credentials for the other RNS.ID account.
Do not create repeated accounts to bypass the conflict. Contact support if you cannot determine which account contains an existing purchase, application, ID, or subscription.
After completion
You can continue using the connected Apple account for Apple sign-in. The verified non-relay email becomes the RNS.ID account email used for email-based sign-in, password reset, verification codes, and account messages.
This forced Apple relay replacement differs from the normal signed-in change-email flow, which verifies both the current and new account emails.
Never send a verification code, password, authenticator code, Apple credential, or wallet recovery phrase to Support. Enter security codes only in the official RNS.ID flow.
