The Palau ID management page can offer Update KYC when an eligible identity document or verified personal detail needs to be updated.

When to use Update KYC

Use the action when it is available for situations such as:
  • replacing an expiring or expired identity document;
  • submitting a newer supported identity document; or
  • updating core information that the verification flow allows you to change.
Do not create another RNS.ID account or purchase another Palau ID to work around an unavailable update action.
An approved KYC update starts a 90-day self-service cooldown. The Palau ID page shows the date when another update becomes available. Review all submitted information carefully before confirming.

Submit an update

  1. Sign in and open the relevant Palau ID.
  2. Find Personal Details.
  3. Review the current verification status and any date shown for the next available update.
  4. Select Update KYC when enabled.
  5. Read the Before You Update notice.
  6. Complete the identity-verification flow with the current, supported document and accurate personal information.
  7. Return to the Palau ID page and monitor the update status.
The product prevents another update while a recent verification is under review or during the 90-day cooldown after an approved update. Use the next-update date displayed on the Palau ID page rather than calculating a time from the approval message.

Understand the result

The Personal Details section can display states such as Verified, Expiring Soon, Expired, Rejected, Under Review, or Submission Locked. Follow the action attached to the current state and do not repeatedly submit a second verification while one is processing. If an update is rejected, replace only the information or document requested by the correction flow. After three rejected KYC update submissions, self-service updating is locked and there is no automatic unlock date. Contact RNS.ID Support for review with the Palau ID reference, exact status, and rejection information shown in the product. For an urgent legal-name, identity-document, or other verified-information correction during the cooldown or rejection lock, contact Support instead of creating another account or submitting conflicting information. Support review does not itself guarantee that a change can be made immediately.

Effect on the physical card

Updating verification data changes the eligible Palau ID record; it does not automatically reprint a physical card that has already been produced. If you change a supported printed field such as full name or birth date after the card has been produced, the updated information appears on a new physical card only after an eligible replacement or renewal. Review Card and shipping and Renew or extend before requesting another card. Update KYC does not itself re-mint a Legal DID or change its selected public metadata profile or KYC-access setting. However, information linked to the token, such as age-related claims or birth year, may reflect approved updates to your identity record. Review the associated Legal DID after an approved update. Use Privacy and claims to manage its public metadata profile and KYC-access setting separately. Wallets and marketplaces may cache metadata, so do not assume every display updates immediately.
